Diffraction Schematic
A schematic detailing the diffraction of an incident X-ray from a PVDF sample.
Diffraction Results
Diffraction images depicting trends in the structure of LB-Deposited and spin-coated films of PVDF.
In the single-layer LB film, high levels of crystal orientation were discovered. When additional layers were added crystalline structure disappeared. Microscopy images indicate that this was due to non-uniformity of deposited films.
In the spin-coated films, increased crystallographic orientation was observed with higher spin-speeds, indicating that orientation was more common in thinner films
Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) Deposition
LB Depostion explanation
In LB-Deposition, a thin film of polymer is spread on the surface of water. By slowly lowering and raising a substrate through this flim, individual layers can be deposited on the substrate.
