A multimeter was used to measure the output voltage of the material with the help of NI Signal Express. The voltages shown has the gain of 110 v/v. The maximum heating and cooling current is -0.58uA and 0.19uA. Olsen Cycen Boundaries: thot=82 degree Celsius, tcold=50 degree Celsius, vlow=50v, vhigh=120v

Characterization of the material using different heating and cooling temperature with constant voltage of vlow=40v and vHigh=150v. The purpose of this process is to determine the optimum temperature time to use in our Olsen Cycle boundaries.

Comparing charges between the dry run and the test run

Phase 2

In phase 2, the electrical circuit was improvised and it was tested out using barium titanate capacitors. Barium titanate was used because it has been widely studied as a pyroelectric material and it served as a teaching tool to determine the functionality of the circuit. The circuit was also tested with and without the material present to compare the output difference. In addition, barium titanate was also characterized to improve the performance of the circuit. 

 

 

The heating and cooling process of our configuration. Cooling was done with a heat sink or with a cool counter top. The changes of the Olsen Loop stage is controlled and monitored by the microcontroller.
